UN Secretary General uN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres spoke out sharply on social network X about the the Russian-Ukrainian war, which has been going on for three years
"That's enough. After after three years of death and destruction, I once again call for an urgent de-escalation and and an immediate cessation of hostilities. I welcome all efforts aimed at achieving a a just and inclusive peace. The UN stands ready to support such efforts."
He said, "The UN has stood in full solidarity with the people of Ukraine since the first day of the war, providing vital humanitarian assistance to millions in need and supporting long-term recovery and reconstruction efforts.
"During this tragic event this tragic event, I reaffirm the urgent need for a just, lasting and comprehensive peace that fully supports the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, in accordance with the UN Charter, international law and General Assembly resolutions."
