British intelligence reports a slowdown in the advance of Russian troops

In March 2025, Russian occupiers seized approximately 143 square kilometers of Ukrainian land. This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense

The report notes that since the beginning of 2025, the advance of Russian troops in Ukraine has been slowing down, and the number of attacks has been decreasing.

"The pace of Russia's advance has been decreasing every month since November 2024, when its troops seized more than 700 square kilometers," the reportby the UK Ministry of Defense.

The last MoD intelligence update on the situation in Ukraine was on April 05, 2025. A week before Russian troops entered Ukraine, the U.S. Department of Defense tweeted President Putin's invasion plan. The Defense Intelligence Agency continues to regularly post intelligence assessments on Twitter to help explain the conflict. It uses a specific language to convey probability in these assessments.
