Bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church ordained in Moscow with the title of "Feodosia and Kerch"
On April 12, in the Throne Room of the Cathedral Church of Christ the Savior in Moscow, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill (Vladimir Gundyaev), ordained Archimandrite Hilarion (Karandeyev) as a bishop with the title "Bishop of Feodosia and Kerch".
The press service of the Crimean Metropolis of the Russian Orthodox Church reported that the ceremony was attended by "Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea", whose actual protégé is Hilarion. Patriarch Kirill was also concelebrated by his personal secretary, Bishop Alexy (Sergei Turikov) of Ramenskoe, the Chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate, and Kirill's first vicar in Moscow, Metropolitan Gregory (Andrei Petrov) of Voskresensk, "Bishop of Yalta" Nestor (Nikolai Donenko), "Bishop of Koktebel" Agathon (Vyacheslav Opanasenko), "Bishop of Dzhankoy and Razdolnenskoye" Alexy (Alexander Ovsyannikov).
"Until the end of my days, I will carry in my heart grateful love for my spiritual father, Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea, in whose person I found not only an attentive boss, but also a wise mentor and teacher and a good friend," Hilarion said in his ceremonial speech.
Earlier, "Holos Kryma" повідомляв, that on March 20, 2025, during a meeting of the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow, Hieromonk Hilarion (Karandeyev) was declared the new "ruling bishop", who at that time was a "clergyman of the Feodosia diocese", previously headed by Metropolitan Platon (Vladimir Udovenko), who was retired in July 2024 . In March 2024 , Hilarion was announced as the acting governor of the so-called St. Vladimir Monastery on the territory of the ancient settlement of Chersonesos Tavriya in occupied Sevastopol.
In the same year, he for some time headed the "Department of Social Service of the Simferopol and Crimean Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church", and was also the chief priest of the ministry in military hospitals of the Russian Armed Forces in the TOT of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. In September 2024 , Hilarion was appointed "dean of the Yevpatorian church district" and rector of the "bishop's yard" of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Yevpatoria, however, soon after, at the beginning of 2025, he became "acting secretary of the Feodosia diocese".
On March 30, "Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimea" Tikhon in the Cathedral named after Alexander Nevsky in occupied Simferopol elevated Hilarion to the rank of archimandrite
