On March 31, NATO naval exercises Sea Shield 25 began in Romania. This was reported by the Belarusian telegraphic agency Belta.
The complex exercises organized by the Romanian Navy, which opened in the Romanian port of Constanta, will continue until April 11.
According to the Romanian Navy headquarters, these are one of the largest exercises since 1995. It involves more than 2.3 thousand military personnel from Romania and 11 partner countries - Albania, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Greece, Greece, Italy, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and the United States. About 150 pieces of military equipment are planned to be used in the exercises, including ships, aircraft, helicopters, and vehicles.
The first week of maneuvers will take place in the Black Sea, on the Danube, and in the coastal zone. In particular, the defense of critical infrastructure on the coast, the protection of maritime communications lines and support for amphibious operations will be practiced," the Romanian Navy headquarters said in a statement.
