Crimea boasts about anti-drone "Russian dome"

Media outlets controlled by the Russian occupiers report the development of an electronic warfare (EW) system that allegedly “reliably protects Crimea from enemy drones and missiles” and “effectively suppresses GPS and Starlink signals, masking coordinates and making it impossible to target munitions.”

It is noted that the system was developed by the regional JSC “Russian Dome” (“Russian Dome”). The local EW system was allegedly created over several months by a group of engineers led by the “Head of the Republic of Crimea” Sergei Aksyonov in close cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Defense “in response to massive attacks from Ukraine.”

“Previously, there were no necessary anti-drone systems on the territory of Russia. Employees of the “Russian Dome” were regularly in the “SVO”* area and decided to create EW devices to combat drones. "The Head of the Republic of Crimea" gave the opportunity to conduct tests in the region, facilitated experimental operation, during which we have already achieved the landing of Ukrainian drones without damage," said one of the creators of the system with the call sign "Associate Professor".

According to the "advisor to the general director of JSC "Russian Dome"" with the call sign "Mayor", the EW system has a radius of action of 20 kilometers and "has no analogues in the world", and its effectiveness is allegedly confirmed by the "absence of enemy UAVs flying over Crimea after its installation".

"No one has such a thing. Our products are recommended for purchase for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the interests of their placement at critically important facilities, as well as on the front line", - added "Mayor".

It is claimed that the Crimean EW system is "successfully" used to protect state and commercial facilities. In particular, it was allegedly used to prevent an attack by 25 drones on one of the factories in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation. It was stated that the developers encountered a number of difficulties, including “accidental suppression of GPS signals in a European country neighboring Ukraine, which required adjusting the device’s operating parameters.”

However, it is also stated that the “Russian Dome” allegedly led to “a significant increase in the cost of conducting hostilities for the enemy”: if earlier cheap UAVs costing 300–400 euros were used to attack the occupied Crimea, now more expensive analogues are allegedly used, costing 20–30 thousand euros or more.
