US Senator criticizes Trump's policies for 25 hours without interruption

Cory Booker, 55-year-old U.S. Senator from New Jersey Cory Booker, elected from the Democratic Party to the Senate in 2013, broke the record for the longest speeches in the Senate. This is reported by the British news agency Reuters.

He delivered a speech that lasted 25 hours and 5 minutes, breaking the record set by Senator Strom Thurmond in 1957. Booker spent more than a day on his feet, did not eat and did not go to the toilet.

It is noted that Booker accused Trump of destroying American institutions and trying to drastically reduce the powers of the federal government.  In the speech, he criticized the attempts of Trump and his adviser, billionaire Elon Musk, to drastically reduce the federal government.

"Our institutions are being recklessly and unconstitutionally attacked and even destroyed," Booker said.
He also mentioned the layoffs of more than 100,000 civil servants and changes in the course of US foreign policy under the leadership of Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.

"Trump's trade war with our allies will only raise costs and fears for American families," the senator said.
At the end of the speech, most Democrats were present in the room, while Republican seats remained empty.

"This is a moral moment for all Americans. This is not a matter of left or right. This is a question of right and wrong," Booker said, criticizing Trump's policies.
