Crimean policeman planted drugs on suspect to improve his performance
In the occupied Crimea, an occupation police officer from the village of Ichki was convicted, who, trying to improve his performance, almost brought a person under a criminal article on drug possession.
According to the materials of the "case", in March 2024 during the inspection of one of the houses in the village of Ichki, the "defendant" with "colleagues" found and seized a drug of an unspecified type from a local resident, the weight of which was not enough to initiate a criminal case. However, the "policeman" allegedly found a wild cannabis bush near the North Crimean Canal in the village and produced more than 11 grams of hashish from it, which he added to the seized substance and sent for "examination."
"Sovetsky District Court" found the "policeman" guilty of "abuse of power" and illegal acquisition and storage of drugs in a significant amount without intent to sell. At the same time, the "defendant" allegedly "agreed to the charges in full and sincerely repented of his actions."
The "policeman" was sent to a general regime penal colony for 3 years and 3 months, with the deprivation of the right to hold positions in government and law enforcement agencies for 2 years with the deprivation of a "special rank", as well as payment of moral compensation to the victim in the amount of 50 thousand rubles (over 23 thousand hryvnias).
