In Crimea, participants of the war against Ukraine are to be turned into farmers

Crimean participants in the war against Ukraine will be able to receive a grant in the occupied region to open agricultural farms as part of a pilot project. This was reported to journalists by the "Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea" Denis Kratyuk.

"We are currently planning a sum of at least 25 million rubles (over 12 million hryvnias - ed.). We see the following format: the minimum grant amount is 3 million, the average amount is 5 million rubles (almost 1.5 and about 2.5 million hryvnias, respectively - ed.). That is, if in 2025 we see 5-7 guys who returned and saw themselves in agriculture, support will be provided. This is a trial step," he said.

Kratyuk noted that there are currently about 12 applicants, each of whom is being consulted, and added that people who have never been involved in agriculture are better off starting with crop production than with more complex and costly livestock.

"You should definitely try yourself in a closed ground, it can be a greenhouse, vegetable crops, a garden. And it can definitely be a grain plot, starting from 100 hectares," he explained."

The grants cover a wide range of expenses - from the purchase of machinery and equipment to the purchase of seeds and fertilizers."

"We are in constant contact with the fund to support the participants of the "SVO "*. The fighters themselves come to us with their ideas, and we try to provide them with comprehensive support. It is a matter of respect that these people, having gone through severe trials, choose to work on the land. The issue of support for SVO participants* is relevant for all regions. The President of Russia has repeatedly stated the need to create conditions for their employment and starting their own business," Kratyuk added, noting that the "Head of the Republic of Crimea" Sergey Aksyonov personally supervises this area in the TOT of Crimea.
