The anthem for Crimea is ready, the author of the lyrics is now an ardent Putinist

Russian People's Artist Ilya Reznik created the lyrics for the competition for a new anthem for the occupied Crimea, "inspired by the courage and patriotism of Crimeans". He told the Russian news agency TASS.

In his interview, Reznik said that he has been living in occupied Crimea for five years, so he "put his love for the region into the lyrics for the song." He thanked the representative of the occupation authorities, the "Chairman of the State Council of Crimea" Vladimir Konstantinov, for the initiative to announce a competition for writing an anthem for the occupied peninsula.

Reznik did not disclose the content of the poem, promising to do so after the competition, which is still ongoing - projects will be accepted until May 31, and from June 1 to June 30, the commission will determine the finalists and the winner.

Reznik also said that the poems were written to the tune of the song "Crimea has returned home" by the "ex-senator" of the occupation authorities, collaborator Olga Kovitidi - this song, according to him, Reznik likes to perform on the "holiday of the Crimean spring" - that is, on the day of the anniversary of the occupation of the peninsula.

Reznik noted that in the lyrics he "reflected the devotion of the peninsula's residents to their homeland and the greatness of Russia," and said he was proud of his creation.

Readers who did not live during the Soviet era will be interested to know that the now-avowed Putinist, 87-year-old Ilya Reznik, was a widely known songwriter in the Soviet Union.

In those days, he created hits, including for stars such as Latvian singer Lāmi Vaikule and Russian singer Alla Pugacheva (now no longer living in Russia), both of whom have consistently opposed Putin's policies and the war Russia has waged in Ukraine.

The Voice of Crimea has already written about the author of the music, collaborator Olga Kovitidi: Putin awarded the traitor the honorary title of "Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation". In Ukraine, Kovitidi was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

"Holos Kryma" also wroteandthat collaborators have repeatedlytried to write the anthem of the Russian-occupied Crimea.
