Crimea: how not to lose the world's attention

Tamila Tasheva, Member of Parliament of Ukraine, said that the Parliament adopted an important appeal to the parliaments of other states calling on them to support Ukraine's territorial integrity and not to recognize the territory as part of the Russian Federation.

In his turn, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis pointed out that Ukrainian diplomacy on the Crimea issue has always been straightforward and persistent.

Perebyinis added that Ukraine ensures the constant presence of the Crimea issue in the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, there are already several decisions of international courts, and, according to him, they will continue.

Charlotte Suren, Charge d'Affaires of the United Kingdom to Ukraine, noted that discussing the importance of supporting Crimea is a signal to people living on the peninsula that the world has not forgotten about them. It is also a signal to the international community that without a sovereign Ukraine and Crimea, global order and security will be at risk.

In her turn, the Head of the Board of the Crimean Human Rights Group Olga Skrypnyk stated that most of the references to Crimea in the European non-English-language media are related to military operations. And only 5% of mentions are related to human rights violations, political prisoners and persecution of the Crimean Tatar people. The situation in the Middle East is no better, and there is also a pro-Russian narrative.
