Human rights defenders initiate issues to be considered in negotiations with Russia
Human rights organizations have made a public statement on humanitarian issues of the residents of the TOT of Ukraine in the negotiations.
The statement of the representatives of civil society organizations outlines the conviction that the issue of ensuring the rights of the residents of the TOT of Ukraine should be on the agenda of negotiations and conditions to be set by the Russian Federation as an occupying country.
"Today, among the positions presented on the "peaceful settlement" of the Russian-Ukrainian war, there are no publicly voiced positions on ensuring the rights and support of those Ukrainian citizens who live in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Moreover, narratives have begun to appear about the need for Ukraine to "give up" part of the occupied territories, including Crimea," human rights activists argue the need to consider the issue.
