Russian authorities have already confiscated more than half of the land in occupied Crimea

In the occupied Crimea and Sevastopol, the number of land plots owned by foreigners has been halved. This was reported on its Facebook pageby the Regional Center for Human Rights (RCHR), which human Rights Center (RCHR), which has been monitoring the situation on the peninsula since the beginning of the occupation.

Human rights activists of the RCHR note that the loss of legal property rights to their property - land, real estate, is the consequence of the occupation of Crimea in 2014 and указу of President Putin No. 201 of March 20, 2020 "On the expanded list of territories, in which foreign citizens, stateless persons and foreign legal entities are prohibited from owning land persons are prohibited from owning land plots on the basis of the right of ownership". According to decree No. 201, the list includes almost the entire territory of the occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol

It is clear that the largest number of foreigners in Crimea, as well as in other temporarily occupied territories (TOT) of Ukraine, are citizens of Ukraine,

"A total of 9,410 cases were selected and 9,410 cases of interference with property rights were selected and analyzed. In 3702 people the Russian authorities seized land plots with a total area of at least 355 hectares (170 and 3532 in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, respectively)," reads the report of the organization on the monitoring data 2014-2019.

Of course, the process of alienation of land from those citizens of Ukraine who had no intention or opportunity to obtain Russian citizenship, or to sell or donate their land in a timely manner land plots in a timely manner, did not take place "peacefully".

Occupation courts have already issued thousands of decisions on the sale of land plots at public auction, which means that the number of of Ukrainian owners will be rapidly decreasing over the next few years. In 2023, the Regional Center for Human Rights documented hundreds of such cases of deprivation of property rights of Ukrainian citizens in Crimea on the basis of putin's decree.

According to the data of the RCHR, prepared on the basis of monitoring of court decisions decisions by the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, on June 30, 2020, the case was transferred to the Information about 3952 victims of of violations of property rights in Crimea.

Even according to the latest data from open Russian sources - the website of the "Republican State Committee for state registration and cadastre" of the occupation authorities of Crimea, for the three years of Putin's decree no. 201, the number of plots owned by non-residents of the Russian Federation has halved.

"According to the Of the Unified State Register of Real Estate of the Russian Federation, in March 2020 the number of of land plots owned by non-residents of the Russian Federation was 11.5 thousand. In the middle of 2022, foreigners owned 6140 plots. The latest data showed that the list has decreased to 5803 plots," said "the head of the State Committee of Ukraine for State Registration" Oleksiy Kostin on the website of the "Republican State Register" of the occupation authorities of Crimea on authorities of Crimea on February 5, 2024.
Note that this is the latest data - there is no more information on this matter either on the website of the "State Committee of the Register" of the occupied Crimea, nor in the Russian information segment at all. But it does not seem that the process of land alienation from non-residents of the Russian Federation has stopped.

From March 2020 as of January 1, 2024, land plots in Crimea owned by "foreign" owners - non-Russian citizens, decreased by 56% - that is, by 2.3 times, - the RCHR calculated. That is, there are still plots that will obviously be "nationalized" by the occupying country.
