Even the occupation "press" hints that this year it is better not to vacation in Crimea
A new criminal case is likely to be opened against Gennadiy Lemeshko: he was not released from prison after serving an 8-year sentence
Hennadiy Limeshko served his sentence in February 2025 and was supposed to be released. However, he was taken directly to the Center for the Detention of Foreign Citizens. His wife Iryna informed the Crimean Human Rights Group about it and later she received a message that Gennadiy was taken from the center to the detention center.
Probably, a new criminal case has been opened against Gennadiy Limeshko, allegedly for "public calls for extremist activities."
The CHRG notes that on August 12, 2017, the Russian FSB reported the detention in the occupied Crimea, in the city of Sudak, of Gennadiy Limeshko, whom they called an "SBU agent" and accused of allegedly preparing sabotage against the peninsula's infrastructure and life support facilities. The SBU called this report on the detention of the Ukrainian "agent" "another provocation" by the Russian FSB
And on May 10, 2018, the "judge" of the "Sudak City Court" Yevgeny Rykov passed a verdict against Ukrainian citizen Gennady Limeshko, finding him guilty under Part 2 of Article 222; Part 2 of Article 222.1; Part 2 of Article 223.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation of storage and manufacture of explosives.
